In this world, there are 196 nation-states, while many do not recognize Taiwan as one because it operates as an independent state that "broke" away from China.
There are 26 countries in the world that operate under federal system. These countries are: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia, Brazil, Canada, Comoros, Ethiopia, Germany, India, Iraq, Malaysia, Mexico, Federated States of Micronesia, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Russia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, South Sudan, Sudan, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, United States, and Venezuela.
In relation to a map, It seems that these countries have more land, power, and control in the world as apposed to other countries that are much smaller in size and don't have as much power or influence on the world today.
There are 168 unitary system governments in the World. The 5 largest countries are China, Kazakhstan, Algeria, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Saudi Arabia.
The difference between a Unitary government and a Federal government is that the Unitary systems upper level government has all the power but the federal systems power is given to the upper level government and to the lower level government. There are advantages and disadvantages to each like: Unitary can make decisions without the consent of the citizens so things get done, but the lower levels of government have no power unless it is given to them; The federal system everyone has their rights to their powers, but it takes a while for actions to be made in the government.
This is like the government saying to the states that yes you can have this but you have to use it as we want you too.
This is putting a bad connotation on the government saying that all they care about is catching people doing illegal things no matter when it is happening.
